READING GROUP:
This Summer we are turning to the under-studied tradition of the Kyoto School, a 20th century Japanese philosophical movement which sought to bring together Zen and Pure Land Buddhism with German Idealism and Existentialism. Don’t miss our meetings most Tuesday evenings (8:00-10:00pm) on the INTERNET! (login information below in red).
This week:
July 7 — The Zen and Shin Schools of Mahāyāna
- Suzuki, D. T., An Introduction to Zen Buddhism, Chapters I-IV
- Suzuki, D. T., “Apropos of Shin Buddhism” in Franck, The Buddha Eye
