Reading Group’s new time (8:00pm), starting tomorrow. Plus, Catherine Malabou!

31 Aug

NOTE #1: In order to accomodate new schedules for many of our student members, the reading group will be moving to 8:00pm starting tomorrow, rather than 7:00.

NOTE #2: Mark your calendar, for the second annual pittsburgh continental philosophy conference, September 25th and 26th. Plenaries include Leswin Laubscher, Fred Evans, and The Partially Examined Life.

Join us tomorrow night as we turn from biology to neuroscience and look at the third chapter of Catherine Malabou’s What Should We Do With Our Brain?

As always, the text is available as a pdf HERE.

We will be meeting at 8:00pm at Tender Bar + Kitchen, in Lawrenceville (4300 Butler St, Pittsburgh, PA 15201)

  • 8/31: Malabou, What Should We Do With our Brain, Chapter 3
  • 9/7: Brassier, Nihil Unbound, Chapter 1

Important update and correction for Monday!!

13 Jul

There was a miscommunication, and I was under the impression that the group did not meet last week (I was out of town). I am happy to hear that Feyerabend was discussed. Since he has already been covered, we will move forward with the original reading planned for tomorrow. I greatly apologize for any confusion this might cause.

For tomorrow then, we will discuss Chapter 5 of Latour’s Pandora’s Hope.

As always, the text is available as a pdf HERE.

We will be meeting at 7:00pm at Tender Bar + Kitchen, in Lawrenceville (4300 Butler St, Pittsburgh, PA 15201).

Reading Group Reschedule

12 Jul

Since last week was canceled, the reading group will be tackling Feyerabend this week, and pushing back further readings one week. For more information see the post below: HERE
