Can’t wait until Monday to get your philosophy fix? Why not head on over to a free open lecture at Duquesne University featuring The Pittsburgh Continental Philosophy Network’s own J. Leavitt Pearl (me!) tomorrow (Friday) at 3:00pm. The event will include a two papers contextualizing the German phenomenologist Max Scheler for the twenty-first century, followed by a response by me. The event is titled The Phenomenology of Max Scheler: In Relation to Critical Theory and Metaethics and is being held at Duquesne University’s Simon Silverman Phenomenology Center, in the Gumberg Library.
A special note of thanks who contributed to this year’s fundraiser. Your contributions help make this possible, and keep it free.
READING GROUP:
PCPN is excited about our winter/spring session looking at Continental Readings of Early Modern Philosophy. This Winter and Spring, on alternating weeks we will examine key early modern philosophers, and more recent continental theorists who have used, interpreted, or rethought these earlier traditions.

Location: Bloomfield Crazy Mocha (4525 Liberty Ave).
As a reminder, even though we have moved to thematic groups, there is no expectation that people participate in every week, so even if you can’t commit to the whole section, you are still more than welcome to join us when you can.

We had a great turnout and discussion for our first reading group of the winter. I am excited to see where this season takes us.
While many aspects of this group are free or nearly-free, thanks in part to your help, it is nevertheless the case that our various web-hosting fees are not free, and cost the group about $150 a year.
We are committed to keeping the group free and open. You can help keep this financially feasible by giving a donation. Whatever you can spare would be a great help.
